Delete your account
Tail Mates is a dog-walking app operated by sidekick.run. This page explains how to delete your Tail Mates account and what happens to your data when you do.
In the app
Open Tail Mates → Profile → Danger Zone → Delete account → confirm. The account is deleted straight away.
Without the app
Email [email protected] from the address you signed up with, and the account will be deleted the same way.
What is deleted
- Your user account, including your name, email address and profile picture.
- The Google sign-in link, so you can no longer sign in.
- All sessions on every device.
- Your walk history and GPS tracks.
- Your tailmate connections, caretaker links and pending invitations.
- Walks you had scheduled, and upcoming events you arranged.
What is kept, and why
Your dogs' profiles are anonymized, not removed: the name, photo, breed and favourite activity are cleared, and the dog lives on as an unnamed "mystery pup". This keeps other people's walk and event histories honest — anyone who walked with your dog still sees a dog on those walks, just no longer yours or identifiable.
Past group events you arranged also remain, without your name, so participants keep their history.
There is no additional retention period: deletion happens immediately, not after a delay.
